Рецепт Lemon Salmon with Yogurt Dill Sauce, Exciting Times
by Katie Zeller

Do you ever have those weeks where everything is more difficult than expected and takes far longer than expected?

As one of my grade school teachers use to say: The hurrier I go the behinder I get.

(Don’t ask, but yes, she really use to say that.)

That’s what my spring has been like so far.

I feel like I’m running in quick-sand.

On the other hand, I got my new smart phone yesterday….

This is the last fish that will be cooked in the kitchen until sometime next fall.

Grilling season has begun.

Lemon Salmon with Yogurt Dill Sauce

Total time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Put the salmon, skin side down, on a baking tray.

Brush with olive oil, sprinkle with dill weed.and top with lemon slices.

Sprinkle paprika over the top.

Bake in 400F (200C) oven for 15 – 20 minutes, depending on thickness. Salmon will be done when it flakes easily, slightly pink in the center is fine.

Yogurt Dill Sauce:

Whisk all ingredients together, at least 15 minutes before using.

Every two years I get to upgrade my phone.

When I got the notice that it was ‘time’ I went on to the Orange site to see what I could get. There was also an offer to change our internet plan. Basically, I could upgrade our internet plan and pay less per month.

This isn’t unusual. I’ve done the same thing every two years – new contract for less money. There’s more competition every year.

This contract includes a newer, faster router and a TV box that will let us get Netflix. It also includes our land-line, which is over the internet, and my mobile.

Exciting times…..

My new phone came in the post right on time; set-up and activation was (relatively) simple.

The other delivery came today..

I was supposed to get a new model TV box with a new model router.

I didn’t get the router and it was an old model TV box.

So I called.

Knowing how challenging it was going to be to explain this, I took the easy route and called the English line.

First an English voice told me that they were very busy and if I spoke French I should call the French help lines.

That was a very polite 15 second message.

It was followed by the same message, in French, with all of the possible numbers to call.

That was a very polite 20 second message.

The English voice came back reciting all of the things that they could do for me and, finally, telling me which keys to tap to get to the right people.

I made my choice.

I was told, again, that they were very busy and to please hold.

That all took another 30 seconds.

Five minutes later I talked to a human and explained my problem. She said I needed to talk to someone else and explained that I needed to call back and select another option.

Please reread all of the above.

After I finally selected the correct option, I was told, again that they were very busy and to please hold.

Then I was disconnected.

I went through it all again.

I was disconnected again.

Being a glutton for punishment, I repeated this futile exercise 6 more times throughout the day, always with the same result: disconnection.

Finally, I called back my original selection.

I was told they were too busy and to call back later.

I called again, depressing the keys a bit more forcefully, assuming this would help.

It apparently worked as, after 10 minutes or so I was speaking to a human, once again.

She couldn’t help me, as she noted I had been told in my first call (yes, they had a record), I explained my problems….. All of them.

I was told that they were aware of the problems on the customer service line and had reported it (to themselves? I was talking to the phone company….)

We discussed my problems a bit further and agreed that the best course of action would be to go, in person, with the equipment, to the local ‘Orange Boutique’ and ask for their assistance.

She assured me that she would make a note in my file regarding all of the above.

Guess what I get to do tomorrow?

After I get that sorted I’m going to go in my corner, sit quietly and play with / figure out my new phone.

I may have a glass of wine to help with that…..
