Рецепт Crunchy Hawaiian French Toast #KHHolidayRollCall
by Erin S

Crushed cereal coated Hawaiian dinner rolls makes use of great leftovers, and a fun twist on French toast.

I can’t believe that it is the holiday season already. I swear it seems like we just had Christmas. But it is here, and it is time to start planning your menus, and what cookies you are going to bake this year. I am hosting Thanksgiving this year, so I guess I better get working. We have pretty much the same thing each year, but sometimes we like to throw something new into the mix. One of the things that is a staple on the table no matter what, are dinner rolls. What about at your house?

Today I am working with KING’S HAWAIIAN ® Dinner Rolls to create a new recipe using their holiday worthy dinner rolls. I decided to think out of the box, and not use the rolls in the traditional sense. Why not turn these perfectly soft, slightly sweet rolls into French toast! This French toast is perfect for when you just have a few rolls leftover (like that would happen). Or if you are feeding a crowd, you can just pick up a 2nd bag of the rolls from the store.

Instead of your traditional French toast, I coated KING’S HAWAIIAN ® Dinner Rolls in a sweet and crunchy cereal. It is the perfect contrast to the fluffy roll. Top with strawberries or other fresh fruit, and whipped cream for the perfect post holiday breakfast. The cereal you use is up to you. I would recommend something sweet and crunchy. You want to crush it up some (so it sticks to the rolls), but still have a few bigger chunks for texture. Have fun, see what combinations are your favorite! 4 KING’S HAWAIIAN ® Dinner Rolls

Preheat large skillet or grilled to medium heat.

In a large bowl beat eggs, milk, cinnamon, salt, and sugar together. In another bowl place the crushed cereal. Slice the dinner rolls in half. Dip into the egg mixture, and then press into the cereal until well coated. If you are using butter, place in hot pan to melt. Put coated rolls into hot skillet. Cook for about 3 minutes per side.
