Hello. My name is Chris and I love to cook. Trying new recipes is a real joy for me, it is like taking building materials and creating something everyone can enjoy. One of my favorite things about cooking/baking is being able to feed others and see their enjoyment out of something I have created. I love to feed a crowd of people and seeing the dishes come back the kitchen clean. Makes me feel like I accomplished something extraordinary.

My biggest influence is my step-mother. I went to live with her and my father just as I became a teenager. She helped me find my way in cooking, and since they were having to work a great deal, I learned to cooked. When she was at home, we always spent a great deal of time in the kitchen.
My other influence is my husband. When we first got married, when I cooked something with the same recipe name, like chicken and dumplings, he would say "Mom does not make it that way". I asked him to give me six months without comments about how is mother did things. It made me want to become a better cook. I never heard that comment again. After 20 + years of marriage he tells his mother, she needs to try my recipes. Do not get me wrong, I have gotten quite a few recipes from her over the years, but have also made some adjustments or additions.
